Activities for Youth at the YMCA


  1. Youth Basketball:  A youth developmental league for children aged 8 – 12 designed to teach basic skills, rules and love for the game!

  2. Recreational Gymnastics:  A program for gymnasts, from beginner to pre-competitive. Learn the basic skills that help promote flexibility, body awareness and balance.

  3. Dance:  Teaches young dancers various styles of dance while developing basic dance concepts, steps and positions.

  4. Martial Arts:  These programs develop physical fitness, self-discipline, and respect for oneself and others.

  5. Squash: Teaches basic rules of squash. Lessons are available for beginners through to advanced players.

  6. Teen Weight Training:  Learn about basic training principles, healthy and appropriate weight lifting techniques and etiquette requirements while on the Individual Conditioning Floor.

  7. Swimming:  An 8 level water activity program for children aged 18 months to 5 years starting with an introduction to the water with a parent through to more advanced lessons where children learn to refine swimming skills like front and back swim.

  8. Dance: Intro to Dance exposes new dancers to basic techniques and styles of dance.

  9. Gymnastics: A parent and Child class is available for children from 3 – 5 years of age. Children are introduced to basic skills while having lots of fun!

  10. Preschool Classes:  Classes for parents and children ranging in activities from art to music to yoga!
