Active Summer Tips!


  1. Be sun safe!  Wear sun block, hats and light coloured clothing.

  2. Keep hydrated!  Carry water with you when ever you are being active.  If you find water bottles cumbersome check out a hydration backpack.

  3. Avoid the heat of midday!  Be active in the morning and the evening, especially when it is humid and air quality is poor.

  4. Get a buddy!  Whatever your activity, two (or more) is better than one.  Better yet get the whole family involved.

  5. Plan a head!  Have enough water and snacks to keep you hydrated and nourished.

  6. Have fun!  It doesn’t have to be hard!  Pick an activity that you enjoy.

  7. Check out what Sudbury has to offer!  Follow the activities link on this site and others to see the great summer events and activities offered throughout the City of Greater Sudbury.

  8. Make a habit of it!  Do something almost every day.

  9. Make it easy!  The summer is a great time to start using active transportation; walk or ride a bike to work, school and to make small trips.

  10.  Join a club!  There are many excellent clubs in the City of Greater Sudbury that make it easy to get active.  Whatever your interest is there is one for you.
